Success in the presentation of Gaptek system at Consultation Forum for Sustainable Energy in the Defence and Security Sector Phase II
Gaptek has given a presentation in the Consultation Forum for Sustainable Energy in the Defence and Security Sector Phase II (CF SEDSS II), which took place in Tallinn, Estonia, from the 20th-21st of March 2018.
The consultation forum consisted in a series of conferences and meetings for the defence community, with the aim of examining how the EU existing legislation can be applied more significantly to the sectors of defence and security. It was examined how and where energy efficiency can be improved and how can renewable energy technologies be employed to reduce the domestic energy expense, as well as increasing the resilience of defence energy-related critical infrastructures.
The event was organized by the European Defence Agency (EDA), one of the three agencies of the United Nations, together with the European Commission. Its mission is to support council member states in their effort to improve European defence capacities in the field of crisis management and sustain politic and defence security.
EDA’s main effort in the Phase II of the consultation forum was focused in identifying how the Ministries of Defence of the EU can get involved in a more extensive way to give support to EU´s ambition of reducing the energetic footprint and domestic energy bills, as well as the transition toward a cleaner, safer and more sustainable energetic model.
Andrea Patti, architect and project manager in Gaptek, was the speaker of the conference. He informed about our constructive system of Permanent Demountable Buildings (PDB) and Deployable Buildings, the two main concepts of Gaptek´s constructive system. In addition, he also explained our point of view on the topic of energy efficiency in temporary buildings and/or armed forces buildings.
